I Miss English Food

Yeah I have looked at some of those stores, but apart form crusty bread and bacon, I am quite happy with the food over here. I just know that none of those stores are going to sell bacon or crusty bread. Although a jar of Branston Pickle might be in order.

Last time I was pregnant, we were living in Scotland, I am now missing UK food soo much lol I keep telling myself it's too early for cravings, but I want sausage rolls so bad, or a fish supper, big breakfast fry-ups at this little cafe called Munchies in Paisley (mmm tattie scones) and mint aero!!!! *cry* You meanies My hubby wants his Irn Bru and sausage suppers too hehe

When I had my cravings all I wanted was sausage rolls and corninsh pasties. (I made my own pasties but they were so bad even the dog wouldn't eat them.)

You could try this store, I have heard some good things about them from one of my Directors (his mum is english).

Don't forget to check out any Indian grocery stores which may be in your area. They usually carry quite a few British items.

Last week my hubby took me out for at late breakfast at our local British store, they have a tea room attached to it. We had full English breakfast. Bacon, sausages, fried eggs, beans, toast. It was soooo good. There was the option of black pudding, but neither of us like it so we chose to have an extra slice of back, instead (we could have had another sausage, if we'd wanted). Can't wait to go again.

Name and address of the store please I am only about a 12 hour drive from Utah and could be tempted

My parents came over about a month ago and brought me a 6 pack of Irn Bru, it was lush. Also I am from Kilmarnock and the local butchers does the killie pie, which they sell at the football stadium. What I would give for one of them right now.

I tried ordering 3 pack of bacon, but when I went to checkout it said that my basket had to be $95.00 and then to deliver it to Missouri it was going to cost $44. Dont know if it was a mistake, but the shipping and the minimum order put me off. Maybe some day.

"Taste of Britain' is 5 miles from our house, and Ive just eaten the most delish Cheese and Branston pickle sarnie with a packet of Walkers Roast Chicken, washed down with Robinsons Summer Fruits Barley......

Bliss...

ok , the pickle and squash were $6 each, but it was worth it!!

Tonights snacks include Lion bar and BBQ Hula Hoops...dribble dribble drool

Also picked up Sage and Onion paxo for $1.99, which is a bit of a bargain, I reckon.

Diet out of the window...oh well

Well being so close to DC, I am lucky enough to report that I can get everything here I miss from the UK, EXCEPT GREGG's PIES !!!!!!! I have hula hoops, walkers prawn cocktails, Heinz beans, branston, curly wurlys, cadburys caramel, etc etc, but I really crave a cheese and onion pastie from Greggs, like others have mentioned. The thing is, when I lived in London I would probably have one once every 2 months, and now I could easily eat 3 every day ! oh well. Im going to London in 2 weeks and I will definitely have one then, and of course proper bread - I can almost smell the Warburtons toaster sliced loaf.......

Not something I miss, but my wife misses Scotch Eggs. There used to be an English Pub just down the road and whenever they went, they'd get scotch eggs. And when she came to visit me, we got a dozen for her. but now the bub is no more, she can't get them.
