Hi,

I am trying to relocate my Argentine mom to the US. She is my only family member living there after my dad passed, and I would like her to live closer to be able to take care of her. My mom has a fairly good living in Argentina, she is retired, owns her house, and has savings. She is willing to live in the US permamently, but I am worried that due to her age, she is 68yo, and that my income won´t be enough to sponsor her; so I am not sure if she would get approved. Any insights would be greatly helpful. Thank you!

You can get a joint sponsor if your current annual income and assets are not sufficient.  On another topic, health care costs for a senior citizen should be a consideration when sponsoring parents.  Good luck on your journey.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Does she intend to work if she moves to the US?
