It shouldn't. It's a valid request. Some officer's just don't have full authority over case and have to get approval from a higher up

You wait years to be eligible to apply, wait months for the interview, finally get to the interview and hear that you're recommended for approval, only for your application to get lost in the void after that. I probably have the most clear cut case possible. I know this is the final step in the whole immigration process but God it is so agonizing! What's worse is the same thing happened to me as well after my GC interview.

Hi everyone. I've been checking the JSON every so often. I filed on March 28, 2025 and like everyone else, I've been waiting patiently for an interview date. Today after checking the JSON,  I saw this "data":{"display_text":"Interview scheduled","milestone":97,"milestone_days_remaining":38,"ordered_display_text":["Attend biometrics appointment (if necessary)","Interview scheduled". I had to do an AI decoding with Perplexity AI to understand the meaning of these codes. It responded by saying that I was scheduled for interview in 38 days.  However, checking my Progress chart, there is no scheduled interview date. It gives an indication of 3 more months. Would anyone know if there is indeed an interview date scheduled or is it just a false flag. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Her interview was this morning (El Paso, TX) and the application was approved. The officer said she will get an invite for the oath ceremony within the next two weeks.

Almost done with the process!

It's been two weeks since the interview and the same-day approval notice. Ever since we have been waiting for the date for the Oath Ceremony but instead we got some very odd email traffic 10 days and 14 days after the interview. The email come in pairs, back-to-back and say "your appointment has been canceled" followed by "your are about (or in queue) to be scheduled for your oath ceremony". Funny part of course is that she didn't have an appointment that could have been canceled. The first time on the 20th I thought it was just a funny glitch but when the same thing happened again today, I was starting to get worried.

Did anyone else see this happen to them?

Its been a week after my interview. Still no updates.. Getting anxious now 😓

I was told everything checks out good and I would be getting the letter of oath in a week. I think the supervisor forgot or is just delaying the final approval.

I am considering reaching out to my state representative. Has anyone had success taking this route? My request would not be to to expedite my case or to make a special consideration. It's simply to see why I haven't still received the letter of oath when they said I would be getting it in a week after my interview.

I'm waiting 79 days. I don't think you can contact senator 1 week after the interview. We ( my attorney and I) will contact the field office on the 90 days mark and then senator after 120 days mark.

ROC VSC mailed 5/7/14

NOA1 5/9

Check cashed 5/14

Biometrics current

RFE dated 12/18

RFE mailed 1/20

Approved 2/2 ! ( letter came from the local office)

Card received 2/17/15 !!!!

During the interview, did they tell you that they were going to send you the letter of oath? What does it state on the N-652 form they gave you after the interview?

Mine said a decision couldn’t be made, but the officer explained why. She said my Alien file hadn’t arrived in time for the interview. She also said I would hear back in 1–2 weeks, as she was ready to approve me on the spot, but needed to review the A-file before making the final decision. Now, 78 days later, I’m still waiting.

Oh ok. My case is different because I was told I'm approved and was given the form that states I'm recommended for approval. He also said I would be getting the letter of oath within a week. So I think I have a case my with representative.

Finally received an update after more than a week of my interview. Placed in the line for oath ceremony. What a relief!
