Here's an update on my case:

03/12 - Mailed my N-400 package with a fee waiver to Elgin, IL Lockbox via UPS

03/14 - Package Delivered at the Front Desk and Signed by Robbins

04/01 - Case added to my USCIS online account

04/02 - Biometrics reuse notice added to my USCIS online account

06/10 - N-400 and I-751 Combo Interview Scheduled for 07/28

06/10 - I submitted a request to reschedule the interview via my USCIS online account because I was not going to be available on 07/28

06/13 - Got a call from the Field Office asking for a reason for the rescheduling and the availability

06/13 - Case status for the N-400 changed to Interview Cancelled. The status on the I-751 still said Interview Scheduled

06/26 - N-400 and I-751 Combo Interview Scheduled for 08/05

A few highlights: Even though I submitted my N-400 before the 3 year residency requirement (within the 90 day window), they waited until I actually had 3 years as a permanent resident to schedule the interview.

I was also expecting them to approve the I-751 since we had an interview for the I-485 and they usually waive the I-751 interview if the couple had an interview for the I-485 but nope. They scheduled a combo inteview.

Just now, my wife and I received the email - interview scheduled for August 4, 2025 (San Francisco office). We had applied on March 9, 2025. Any advice on interview is welcome!

- Arrive a bit early

- USCIS building may have multiple entrances and lines. Make sure to join the right line

- If you can avoid wearing metal and boots / shoes with thick soles, baggy clothes l, belts, watches etc don't wear it. Because you'll be going through metal detector. The less stuff you wear the better

- Don't bring laptops and backpacks if you can

- Be ready to spend 1-4 hours at the building in case of same day ceremony

- Bring bonafide marriage evidence for N-400 if you filed under 3 year rule

- Bring all valid and expired passports

- Bring all green cards (including expired), EADs, Advance Paroles and other ID cards issued by USCIS

- Do not talk too much, let officer do the job

- Give short, direct, confident answers. If possible, yes or no. If you don't know something, say you don't know.

- Remember travel dates, key relationship dates, addresses you lived and worked at. Remember key info about each other.

Good luck!

Question: How do I reply to someone's post here? I only see Report and Share options?

Under their post wording is a quote button. Tap that and out opens a post window with their post copied onto it and you then type your post under that

then hit “submit reply” below your post

How do you ask Emma about updates?

In the USCIS website, you start a chat session from the bottom right corner and choose "Live Agent". You can then ask them for details about your case. Some agents are more helpful than others. Not sure if this works after-hours.

There was an update in the JSON text as follows. Curious about the updatedAt line. 06/16 is the 5 yr anniversary of my GC (I had applied exactly 90 days early). Is this the date they took action (transferred to FO hopefully) just so happened to coincide with the 5 yr anniversary or do they update everyone's application on the anniversary day?

I had a similar thing happen to me. I received an update exactly on the 3rd anniversary.  My progress tab went from 2 months to 5 months.  As many of you have said, this is not something to worry about, as this not a true indicator.  Hope so!
