My interview finally got scheduled when it was my birthday, which I taught it was cute and sweet.

Congrats!! 🎉 Jaycel and I prayed that we would get an interview scheduled as my birthday present this year and we got it scheduled on June 16th, which is NOT my birthday BUT it was the date we celebrated my birthday because of her school schedule the last time we were together in the Philippines :D

"If your Form I-485 is based on a petition filed by a family member, your petitioner’s Birth Certificate and your petitioner’s evidence of United States Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident Status." I'm not sure if the birth certificate is enough since my spouse does not have a passport.

As long as it's a "long" version listing both parents etc, it should be OK. Birth certificate is proof of citizenship.

Also is it preferred/required to bring copies of original application forms like I-864, I-485? I read that some people do, or is it completely unnecessary? For example, on the interview notice it says if required to bring completed I-864 and supporting documents. Did you bring a copy of I-864? I do understand that it makes sense to bring the supporting documents and bring new evidence like payslips and etc. but not sure about the redundancy of the application that they already have on file.

Sometimes officers say they don't have your file in the system / cannot locate it.

This is why Jaycel and I are bringing the copy that we made of our entire AOS submission just before we put it in the FedEx Pak

I would bring everything that your notice that you received asked you to bring just in case. I know every office can be different. For me I did bring everything my wife notice asked us to bring and though we didn't need anything (only her updated vaccination) its better just to be safe.
