Only thing I not really sure of is the medical:

Her medical she did for the K1 visa expires in mid July but from all the notices I have received so far I did not get anything about doing another medical exam for her. For my understanding as long as the AOS was filed within 1 year of the medical being done we should be ok unless they ask for it.

We will bring a copy of her medical exam from that time just in case though for the interview.

One of my RFE was the Affidavit of Support which I did send in and after that the interview was scheduled but I will fill another one out and bring the required tax papers just in case as well.

My gosh it's alot of stuff to check for and make sure I have lol. Little bit stressed now.

Did your wife get the Polio vaccine at her Medical at SLEC?  One of Jaycel's friends she met at the embassy doing her K-1 visa interview at the same time just had her interview today and got an RFE to get her Polio Vaccination and submit proof it was administered. Apparently CDC changed the requirements in May of 2024 but it appears that SLEC did not know for a while because Jaycel does not have it either. They gave them both a blanket waiver for not being age appropriate but USCIS is saying that according to the new CDC guidelines, that is incorrect. We are going to go get Jaycel's Polio vaccine done before she gets her interview so that we have proof to give them when we go.

I don't know that you'll need a civil surgeon for sure yet... we are waiting to see the paper her friend got at the interview. She thinks they said just to upload proof that she got the vaccine. I'll let you know as soon as I know. Way to go SLEC not knowing about the updated requirements. Jaycel got the medical 3 months after they changed :(

We are going to do the same for Jaycel... Her medical was Aug. 6th & 7th last year. She has a doctor's appointment on July 1st and I'm going to see if they can administer it there since I don't foresee us getting an interview before then seeing as it's already June 3rd. I am in a big group chat with other Denver AOS filers on Reddit and it seems that Denver is doing interviews for September 2024 filers this week and next (at least among the members of the group chat there's 3 September 2024 filers that have interviews this week and next)

Congrats!! When is your interview? Jaycel and I are still waiting for our interview to be scheduled so I only have advice I have heard from attorneys and other's accounts who have had their interview:

3. Bring updated evidence of your marital bona fides you have accumulated since filing

4. Updated I-94

5. Your IDs (Both spouses)

7. Don't be late - Just read an account of someone checking in 3 minutes late to their appointment and the officer came out and said that they would have to re-schedule them for another day

That all looks great to me! For the taxes... do you have an updated tax return transcript from your husband from the 2024 tax year? (Or copy of the complete tax return and W-2)? Or is that what you mean by this section?

Why separately though? I most cases, filing jointly provides higher standard deduction, and inheretely higher refund? This is not related to immigration, but in general...

Yeah! We know now… was a bad advice of your accounting person… as I had student visa, but now that I got my EAD we will do it next year. I already signed up my work contract with the filled taxes together

You know the taxes can be amended and you can still get more money back? Sure, it would require work...

Hello everyone.

Just an update from my interview...

i did the errata thing that was suggested... the interview went well I think.. was nervous at times at the start of his questions after a long pauses...

Questions were:

Basic personal details

Mine:

1. How did we two meet... when?

2. Date of marriage, where?

3. How does my usual day go?

My husband:

1. Where does he work?

2. Was there a proposal..

Others were follow up questions related to above...

We were tense at first but later on we get a bit warmed up and even shared more experiences on our trips together and he asked follow up questions too. Husband became more chatty as well 🤣 describing our first 4dx cinema experience in our trip... and how one guy lost all his popcorn.. and i gave mine as we didnt need two huge popcorns.. and how i forgot to share our first trip highlights too... hahaha

Only thing I was really dig into are:

1. how unclear my birth cert copy was, it was already the certified government issued so gotta explain how the original is on same state... and much worst now... since where I was born was a faraway village maybe.. lol so the paper used was just soooo bad that if I compare my own fathers birth cert than mine, you would think im the ancient one! 🤣🤣🤣

2. My medical back to where I am doing my papers.. he was saying how the doctor didnt fill it up completely or im lacking vaccines.. i just said that somehow there is only one listed affiliated clinic there and when I asked like what kind of vaccines  in the clinic all they tell me is this is official US standard vaccines (and we know it and have been doing it for years..) so of course i just had to follow and get thru it.

Then we were discussing they might ask for RFE... if they think we need.. i asked if i could perhaps just contact the clinic and let them fill out the form properly, the good officer says thats a possibility or if its only few additional they need..they will let us know.

Then fast forward today... i received a

Cancellation Notice for Request for Additional Evidence

But i never even received an RFE to begin with.. it was verbatim in the interview that they might... sooooooo.. im wondering what this means..
