Hello. My fiance has his K1 visa interview scheduled for Aug 20th, however, the police report we got states that it is valid until Aug 16th. Would this be rejected at the embassy? I've looked on the USCIS website as well as the K1 visa packet we received and it says as long as the police report was issued within the last two years. I just wanted to know if the validity date on the report is going to be a problem so that we can get another police report, or are we good to go with the copy we have now? Thank you.

it depends on the country, i believe some only have police certificates that are valid for 3-6 months? i remember reading that somewhere but I could be wrong on that.

but regardless they will more than likely want an unexpired one.

even if it is just expired by a few days.

personally id rather be safe than sorry and just get a new one while you still have time to do so. that way you avoid a potential 221g for that document.

you could always submit an inquiry to whichever embassy you are going through.

but my guess is they will tell you that it cant be expired.

Consular Officers don't care about expiration dates on police reports.  They consider them valid for two years from the ISSUE DATE.  Carry on.  No worries.

Thank you so much. We went ahead to get another one just to be on the safe side.
