Some help with VJ photos please...

OK, i've just tried to create a new album. Successful. But then I try to add the URL to a test photo from my photobucket account. Says upload was successful. then next page, get this message...

The previous file could not be placed.

You have successfully placed all the files.

Huh??? Weird, I know. What to do?

Well i just tried to add a URL to a test photo on photobucket. It said the upload was successful, then when I was placing it in the folder I got a strange message that said the URL could not be placed. Wonder why. Any ideas? You're doing great so far there, Fancypants! Love that name.

Look at the URL line itself for the photo, it should end with '.jpg' (with nothing else following it). If it has more characters after that, just delete it from the line and try again.

it sounds like you are just trying to upload a file from photobucket to vj. if you want to post a pic you use the 2nd link under the pic, click on the 2nd button to the right of the smiley face when in the edit mode, and paste the link in the pop up window. then do a preview post to see if it works.

if you want to post a link to your bucket, just copy and paste the url to your profile after insuring the photobucket account is public.

The link will still take up some memory space - not sure why...a question for Capt. Ewok. But referencing the URL allowed me to have as many as about 15 photos here on this site. I think there's some black magic involved though to get it to work.

use photobucket or imageshack to store photos

how will that help with this site? Unless you think i should just add a link to it. Which is fine, I suppose. but just wanted to keep it on VJ. But anyway, thanks. Worth a look, anyway.

This is a family immigration site not a picture hosting site. If it makes you feel better imageshack gives horrible immigration advice

I don't think VJ wants to expend too much energy towards picture hosting. photobucket or imageshack do a great job hosting pictures for free. The internet is the internet.... you can keep your pictures anywhere. I don't see how keeping them on VJ helps VJ.
