Adjustment of Status and Travel within United states

I am not sure if this is the correct place.  My husband from Ireland and I are in the Adjustment of Status process.  His only ID is his passport still (it is NOT expired, but the stamp in there relates to the date he should have went back to Ireland), as this process is very long it seems.  We are currently waiting for the interview step.  We are wanting to travel to a couple other states within the US for some fun vacation times, but I have a fear that if they examine his passport they may want to detain him for being past his date.  We have driven to other states close by, but we have a couple friends we want to visit quite a far bit away from us.

Has anyone else been in this situation and flown just fine?

His NOA1 for I485 is his proof of status pending adjustment.

He'll carry that with his passport.

Your post was moved to the correct forum Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas as you are not a K1 AOS applicant although your timeline is BLANK so that cannot be confirmed.
