Middle Name Change

When I was doing my K1 and AOS, I lost one of my two middle names. As the Social Security agent told me (while getting my SS Card), it did not fit, and I had to choose. Ever since then, I have been using one middle name legally everywhere. But after I submitted the N400, I thought about it, and I would like to have it back. Was this person at Social Security right that I can only use one? Can I still request a change?

The SSN card has two lines for the NH's name with 26 spaces on the first line for the NH's first and middle names and 26 spaces on the second line for the last name and suffix, if any. Neither the first or last names shown on the SSN card should be reduced in length, unless it exceeds the 26-character limit.Mar 3, 2011

 

Take  a copy of the SS page to SS office and make them correct it

They were only asking which middle name you wanted on the card since both would not fit.  They did not legally change your name (except possibly to your married name).  By SSA definition, only the first and last names are "legal" names.  Middle name(s) or suffixes are just for differentiation among similar names, but they are not considered part of the legal name by the SSA.  First, middle, middle, would all have to fit on line 1.  Line 2 is reserved for last and suffix.
