Transfer CR1 Interview to Sydney US Consulate Wait Times

Hi everyone, I'm in a bit of a situation. So, I have Australian PR and have flights booked. Then, I got an email a week later from NVC about my interview appointment, which is the day after I arrive in Australia.

I just want to know if anyone has ever experience transferring their interview after the date is set, from one embassy to another. How long did it take for them to transfer the case and how long did it take to appoint a new interview date? I got DQ'ed 12 March 2024.

Thanks in advance.

Whyd you wanna transfer? I'll consider this a good opportunity to get the CR-1 interview done

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

The day BEFORE you arrive or the day AFTER?
It will probably take at least a month to transfer the case depending on the consulate you want to transfer to… it could be more.

You can always go to the interview then your medical and then get your visa.

Or you can reschedule your appointment in Australia.

How long do you plan to be in Australia for?

So, I guess my question is what is your end game?  You have Aus PR, which requires you to not be out of Aus for more than 12 months, but you want to become a permanent resident of the US, where you also can't be gone more than 12 months.  Are you just moving to Aus on PR or have you been there for close to the 4 years required for citizenship?

Where is your case presently sitting (ie where is your interview scheduled for)?
