Only picked up on this today via reddit. we have had the four vaccination/booster available since 2021 and the last one was Nov 22. We haven't been eligible for the UK autumn booster and when Med Visa  asked if we had the vaccination I just assumed they meant the four we had and said yes. The 12 month ruling appears to put us out by a month or so as the medical is 4th jan. Have recent people been getting a private booster?  or is it because the UK doesn't mandate people getting unless they meet the criteria its not applicable?

US immigration rules don't care what your country's medical opinion or system is. Just because the UK doesn't think COVID vaccines are important doesn't mean US stops requiring them. I am unsure if COVID vaccine is available privately in UK, if clinic doesn't have they should give you a waiver for 'vaccine not routinely available' so your immigration shouldn't be hampered.

The UK doesn’t think Varicella vaccines are important either, and that requirement is waived for those immigrating from the UK.

So it’s possible they’ll do the same for the Covid booster if people really can’t get it.

The US only requires two covid injections no boosters.

This is what I was told by nurse at the medical.

I suggest you email them to clarify and or talk to the nurse over the phone.

You will need to make sure the covid injection(s) is on your GP summary. You will also require the recommended vaccines from the USA like Pfizer, Moderna, etc. They do not like Astrazeneca as its not approved by CDC.

official guidelines are you need a booster within last 12months. It went into affect end Nov I think. If a clinic isn't up to date on guidance, that doesn't make it fact.

It's true that it will be waived if unavailable though (as it is in uk)

I did say in my message if unavailable it will be waived. I haven't kept up to date on whether private clinics or medical plan to start stocking the vaccine. I assume not but I also don't know 100%
I got mine in US 6months before my medical and also had medical couple days before rule change so never had to find out

Hi there, could I ask how do we know that it wipe be waved? I have the same issue, can’t find the tetanus injection alone anywhere, and can’t find the Covid jab anywhere, not available. How does this work? Thanks!

Apologies for coming back to this so late, basically the two covid vaccinations from 21/22 were fine and that's despite the boosters. It appears at the moment that's the position that London is taking and it wasn't an issue at the interview either. I ended up having polio and tetanus as an extra as I couldn't show 3 tetanus over lifetime and Polio is on the rise again. I had the Dtap a couple of yrs ago so wasnt expecting that again. I also had the flu jab there. I had the Hepb and MMR the week previously at a travel clinic as I wanted to limit the amount I got at the medical. Unfortunately I am in the 1960's age group that never got the vax record digitised and couldn't prove the sterling work my mother made in getting all those vaccinations in the cold and snow in the mid 60's. She was most put out.  We leave in a couple of weeks, the medical is a well oiled machine and you'll get what you need.

Did they mark on your vaccination sheet that req was waived for covid or complete?
glad was smooth. Polio is a new-ish req. UK is a hotspot so required to have a booster within last 2yrs. I think tetnus is req if you haven't had one in last 10
