i had my medical done in june back in canada prior to my interview and moving to the US as per the K1 requirements, and then gave the sealed envelope to the POE officer at the border like i was supposed to. after opening the envelope and reviewing the contents, he pointed out that the doctor had indicated that a 6-month follow-up was required.

first, i'm surprised the doctor - or his office - didn't indicate anything about this when i picked up my medical. i do have some medical issues, but they are completely under control and have been for years, not to mention they are no threat to anyone nor will they be financially draining to the system.

second, is this typical for someone who does have a past history of chronic health issues? also, do i have to set up the appointment for the medical on my own for about the 6-month mark (from my previous medical in june), or will USCIS notify me that i need to do this when the time comes?

i'm just a little confused as to how this all works, especially given that i'm applying for my AOS any day now...

thx :)

If it were me in your situation, I would supply the I-693A (Vaccination Supplement) along with my AOS application and see if that suffices.

You aren't even sure what the follow-up is for, so it would be pretty hard to see a doctor without knowing what the reason is for the follow-up.

Are any additional vaccinations required that you did not get prior to coming to the U.S.? If so, that might be what the follow-up is for.
