Interview done, visa is in my hands right now. I almost cried twice at the interview, I couldn't believe that things were finally working out. I had received an email that asked for me to fill out DS5535, so I did, and I was terrified. I didn't end up in AP. I am so grateful it has made me speechless. Wishing all my fellow Aug 2023 filers still waiting a very soon reunion with our loved ones.

My spouse and I are still waiting for an interview assignment in Ciudad Juarez, but based on announcements we've seen in FaceBook, we are hopeful to receive a notification of an interview date in February or March. Our DQ date was February 12, 2025. I'll announce here when we finally get an interview date assigned.

That's awful — you ending up waiting longer than my Iranian wife did.

Her interview in Ankara was on January 6, five days after Trump eliminated the exemption for immediate-relative cases from his travel ban. We cried a lot and were overwhelmed with nausea. But thankfully there was still another exemption that was retained, and my wife met the criteria, but we had to scramble to get our supporting documents in order. Then a few days after she received her passport and visa in the mail, all cases for Iranians were paused because of the change in "public charge" rules that the State Department is (allegedly) mulling over. She's here in the US with me now. Hopefully you're the last one who's still waiting ...

Oh @emeditz, I'm so happy for you guys. I can only imagine the agony you must have felt when news of pausing visa processing for certain nations was announced. I am so relieved to hear that you are together now.  You also waited a long time, and you deserve this happiness.
