Hi Everyone,

My husband and I are currently at the NVC stage and we wanted to get an idea about how long it takes to get an interview after being DQ'd at NVC, but unfortunately, there is very little information to be found on this site, or any other. So, I am creating this thread just for that and hope it will be helpful for others as time goes by. Feel free to share your recent timeline.

Thanks,

Eve

Right now it takes about 10 months to get an interview.  They are catching up on the backlog so hopefully it will be much sooner for your you both.

Are we talking about the consulate in Lagos or Naples, Italy? We moved our case to the Consulate in Naples after moving to Malta. Someone told me it is taking between 1-3  months and I was hoping to hear if others are having similar wait times.

I know the consulate in Lagos has a long wait time....

It is Lagos.  I didn't catch that you transferred to a different country.  Sorry I wasn't helpful.

It's okay. Thank you for being helpful.

We have been DQ'd since October 12, but have heard nothing from Naples regarding our interview date. Best of luck to you guys!

Your case is slightly different, as we filed for CR-1. However, we were DQ on October 12th and we got our interview letter on December 12th. Interview is scheduled for January 24th.

Hello again,

My husband had his medical exam on January 23, 2024. Everything went well, except for the vaccinations. While reading over the immunization requirements, I saw that Covid was required but my husband received his two doses back in 2021, so I mentally checked it off the list. Then one week before interview we received an email stating that he needed to have a booster within 12 months of medical exam. Okay, no problem. Hubby had appointment to get remaining vaccinations that evening, however we were told we could only go through the government run heath centers. We were not too worried as we figured he could get vaccination at medical exam, but on Friday afternoon at 4:24 we learn they do not administer the covid vaccination at the medical exam.....conundrum....more research and based on verbiage regarding the Covid-19 vaccine my husband would be eligible for the "routinely not available" blanket waiver.

We left for Naples, Italy that Sunday. Hubby had medical exam and he did not receive the booster. Unfortunately, he could not get the booster in Italy either (and believe me when i say we looked! We had Italian friends search and contact different agencies on our behalf in Naples and other places in Italy, as well) as he was not a resident of Italy. So we returned to Malta, waited until Monday when we could get the vaccine and my husband returned to Naples that same day (1/29/24). Today, CEAC site shows Visa is "issued", now we are just waiting for details on when he can pick it up.

So, we were DQ'd 10/12/23, recieved our IL 12/12/2023 and interview scheduled 01/24/2024.
