Question about filling out Form I-864

Hi everyone,

I am currently in the process of filling out the AOS Form I-864, and I was wondering if I can fill out some information on my computer and handwrite the rest of the fields that my laptop does not allow me to fill out digitally? Has anyone submitted their form where they filled out some fields digitally and some handwritten?

Also, when I initially download the form the barcode is visible at the bottom of the pages, but when I open it in my Adobe Reader the barcode disappears (I did update my Adobe Reader and am still faced with this issue). I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue with their form and if they were able to solve the issue or is it okay to submit the form without the barcode at the bottom?

Everyone who has submitted an I-864 needed to handwrite at least some fields.  The signature (and signed date) must be handwritten.  Any other field may be handwritten or typed.

What happens when you print the form?  Do you see the barcode?  I can't really replicate as I use the full version of Adobe Acrobat, and DO see the barcode.

The barcode still isn't showing up when I print the form. I am using a Mac OS, so I'm not sure if that is the reason as to why it is not showing up. Maybe I don't have the correct Adobe Acrobat for my Operating System? My husband tried on his laptop which has Windows and it seems to show the barcode on his Adobe Acrobat.

Btw if a question is Not Applicable to me, can I write "NA" instead of "N/A", for some reason it does not let me write symbols digitally in Adobe Acrobat on some questions. Or should I stick to handwriting "N/A"?

Try it on a PC.

Type Not Applicable, then copy and past as needed.  If the first field in a series in N/A, just indicate it once.  Note that some answers ARE applicable with the answer being NONE.  It's not the same thing.
