Questions I-864 and I-164EZ (split)

Hi there. I'm about to start the arduous task of filing out my AOS document for my spouse. Seeking confirmation first that:

A.) I can ask questions here (after carefully skimming the thread to see if they've already been addressed)?

B.) To start, I'd just fill out the regular I-864, no? Not the I-864EZ?

Thank you in advance.

A. Definitely!

B. You need to determine which 864 form to use. I haven’t seen previous post/comments, so not sure which boat you’re in. It will depend on how many people you’re sponsoring, what you’re using to prove you can sponsor the immigrant (self employment, W2 employment, assets, etc),  and whether you have a co-sponsor. I was able to use 864EZ because I earn enough income myself to use solely to meet guidelines for our household size and am only sponsoring one immigrant. The 864 instructions will breakdown all the details.

Thank you! I am a full time educator with a side job as a PCA and I'd only be sponsoring my wife (and possibly her two cats lol). Will relook at the form instructions. Would it not just be the regular I-184 though? Thanks in advance.

Become an A-Student of the I-864 instructions, not just a looker.  You cannot go wrong using the full version, but if you clearly qualify for the EZ, go for it.

Okay. Will reread them. I guess I just assumed it'd be the regular one but I'll take another look! Thanks.

Like I said, never a problem using the I-864, even if you could use the EZ, but study of instructions is still critical.
