I've seen a number of people use the "RFE Trick" to get a touch to their case status. What I'm wondering does it really accomplish anything of use if you're not past your estimated adjudication date. I certainly understand people being anxious, I sure am. But does it really do any good? Or does it just interrupt people from actually working on petitions?

I have heard that it does in some cases. Looking at your time line, Rover, you should have had your NOA-2 by now. Give them a call, use the RFE trick, and if you do not get anywhere, call NVC and see if your case is there or has been forewarded to the Embassy.

1 603 334 0700 press 1 then 5, call early in the morning and be ready with your receipt number, name and DOB of the beneficiary and your name and telephone number.

Best Wishes to you !

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

From my experience, it doesnt really help the processing but it did ease my mind a little to know that there are actually people working ;)

Also, the folks that answer the phone at the Service centers cant really tell you much more than the USCIS Customer Support folks. Every once in a while you get a good one that will give you a tidbit here and there but thats about it. And dont worry about interrupting the process for other people by talking to the officers that answer the phones, thats there whole job to answer the phone and handle questions.

Out of the 4 times I called via the RFE trick, I got 4 very polite officers. 2 of them were pretty much no help at all, the last two told me that my case was on a shelf waiting to be assigned to an adjudication officer (fairly standard answer).

So anyway, hope it helps.....

Yeah People don't use the RFE trick to get touches. They use to to actually get in contact with their service center. In hopes to find out something new such as, has their case been assigned, approved, given an RFE, or used as a puck for some CSC floor hockey. hehe

12/13/04 - Met online

04/02/05 - 1st of 5 trips to the Philippines. The last of which I spent 6 months.

07/10/07- 2nd touch hmmmm should I be excited? HAHA

07/11/07- 3rd touch - may or may not be due to a phone call.

Right, the touch is might generate is of no consequence. The "RFE Trick" became quite popular as a way of finding out if you were approved last month and the month before because CSC was having such trouble with the computer systems and sending snail mail notices. Many people found out they were approved that way. If they were not, and they got a touch because of the call, it didn't do anything for anybody.

Actually, comparing my dates with others with similar time;ines, TSC/CSC, Counulate- London, I'm sorta in the middle for receiving NOA2. And times from NOA1 to NOA2 have been going up in the last couple months, according to the trending charts. Therefore my estimated adjudication date has moved to the 28th.

From comments in other threads it seems many people got touches using the RFE trick. Just wondering, I don't want a touch unless it's from something they really did. Not just a phone call. Unless a phone call does some good.

I'll give it a few more days before I ring them.

How about sending in additional evidence as a bonafine marriage, like pictures, bills, emails birth certificates ect as an "RFE". Just send it like they requests RFEs to be returned in an enveloped marked in red "RFE." Would that help at all? I hope that gets us moving or that what ever I may send may help as information that will help clear up what ever is holding us up in USCIS.
