Hey All,

I sent my packet for AOS about 2 weeks ago via USPS priority mail with signature confirmation. They received it on July 20th in Chicago and I have a copy of the signature. I'm real worried because I still haven't heard anything from them nor have they even cashed the check. Does anyone know of a number I can call to check the status of my case?

Thanks.

No need to call. Keep in mind that things might be slower given the increase of applications to beat the fees.

Our package was received on the 16th and we found out yesterday that the checks were cashed on the 25th. So you're definitely still on the timeline. Wait an other week before you worry about anything. It takes time and patience.

Considering that the Chicago Lockbox is inundated with submissions right now I would be a bit more patient.

Same here - I know I need to be patient, but ... I think this part is kinda horrible - not knowing if your in the system, if they'll return your package for some reason .. etc etc ....

Hi, they usually advice you to wait 30 days.. don't worry, it will be cashed soon!

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)
