You basicly just called anyone that doesn't live in a big, blue city a blind sheep, a homophobic, a person ignorant of the world, fat and stupid bunch of people. At the same time you think that anyone that is a big city dem is smarter than anyone else. This is what turns us off from the self serving elitist dems. It isn't a stereotype. I can't vote - but I've already been lumped together with the Dems. As though a person can't express a view without it being one or the other. Very boring IMO. Basically there's a lot of rhetoricising over people - rather than actually engaging with them in a conversation.

Steven's earlier point is quite right - that most people are a lot more moderate in their political thinking than the political parties, lobbyists and the media want us to believe. Kind of why I find it amazing that people take TV/Radio commentators seriously when they spout out really outlandish stuff.

I'd agree. I suppose most people have moderate views. Although I'd say that a good portion of those people have little interest in discussing politics. Those who do like to debate tend to have more extreme views.

I think I'm as guilty of what you've said as anyone. I admit that I am likely to be dismissive of a person with very conservative views.

I was only talking to Dev, not you. I always try to keep my comments in the realm of political philosophies. This was a direct insulting personal attack.
