Sorry I had to go through your thread to see dates of when you filed I-290 B and when you posted they granted. ..

I understand you are seeing a denial from Jan 7, but without the actual letter , it’s difficult to speculate what that is for…and online status has not been very reliable…and it could be for something else or who knows..

You will need to wait at least another week to get the mail and see what is the issue.

No, nothing in the mail.  It doesn't look that i will get any further information.  Should I call them?  I thought that i would get a reason as to why my case was reconsidered and then closed.

Put them on speed dial and try to get through a tier 2 Officer. I believe they won’t allow you to put in a service request til  next week…but keep trying to get through.

Don’t press options, say “InfoPass “ and or “ lost receipt “..that works to get u through to live rep

Thanks for that.  What is a service request?  Sorry for not getting my head around the term.

Could it be that my i-290 was approved by someone and then sent back to San Bernardino and the officer who denied it originally.  He/she skimmed over the new information/evidence and then did a final denial, based on the same reason for the initial denial.

By the way, I have been preparing for a new filing of the I-485.  Hopefully get things complete by the end of this week.

The online status stated you should receive decision in the mail by Xx date ( 1/23 ?). When that fails to arrive you put in a service request for USCIS to provide you copy of decision.

You can also do it online, but at this point just stick to getting through on the phone and or try for an InfoPass. Hold off new filing so that you can see exact issues on denial ( if any).

Yes, sorry, understand now.  I think they have until the end of the week.  I will call them and try to get a tier 2 officer.  Thanks for the advice.  I will keep you updated when I know more.

Thank you!

Just another update.  I called today and a tier 2 officer is going to call me with a view to arranging an appointment at the San Bernardino office to explain things to me.  I don't know if that's positive or not but at least I will find out and maybe argue my case.

Did you get notice in the mail ? We’re past the 23rd

Hi again, sorry for not getting back to you.  Went down to San Bernardino office last Tuesday and explained the situation re the denial and no notice.  I was eventually passed to a supervisor and she was really nice.  She said that she would have a look at my file and call us back.  She called us back and said that they are looking again at my files, another officer has been asked to check everything out and then give a decision in 30 to 60 days.  She also said that she had a quick look at my I-693 form and it looked ok at first look.  So now I have to wait and see.  Trying to be positive but has too many knocks to be overly so.

Thanks for keeping in touch with my case, I will keep everyone informed when I hear more.  Put my refilling on hold for now.

Thanks again.
