You also have to put that embassy on your petition bc if they send it to your home country the embassy you schedule with won’t have the documents. My point is it’s not as simple as calling and seeing whatever embassy is faster and scheduling with them

Understood, and what you are saying makes perfect sense. That doesn't exclude my point though. It would need to be part of the coordination process once the appointment was made, to see about getting them access at the other embassy. I would have to think that they can get access online in their consular network and it is not a package of actual paper being sent that can get lost etc. but I can easily be wrong

This would only be for tourist visas right?  We are CR-1 DQ waiting for a Juarez interview.  Heard it can be over a year. The NVC sends your file when a consolate requests it. So, making an appointment at another country’s consulate or embassy would not help if they don’t get your case from NVC?

Anyone found out more?

Hello. Was there any updates on this?

A friend of mine with Ir1/cr1 case sent an embassy change request directly to the embassy she wanted to have the interview. They didn’t accept (not because of workload, since the embassy has no backlogs) and had responded that citizens of this certain country need to get appointments from certain embassies, which was mentioned in the official website. Might it be that they’re not aware of this new update?

Would sending another request with a link to this help?
