Hi everyone,

Vipul and I had a couple of questions and were wondering if anyone had a anser for us. I'm sure whatever we're asking has been asked before so I apologize upfront.

1. We sent off our AOS paperwork on March 22nd and they just cashed our checks. I know there's probably no progress yet but we were just wondering if there is a way to keep up with our case online (like we did with our K-1 petition). Anyone know if that's possible?

2. All we sent with regards to our marriage was the marriage license. We read and reread the instructions and didn't see where it asked for anything else. I know it's too late to be asking this but were we supposed to send in other evidence like bills in our name, banking information in both our names, and ect.?

Once you get your receipt number you can register. The problem is that there are no updates until you get approved, at least in our case, the message stayed the same. Once the packet is sent to your local office they do not update until it is done. There were no updates for the biometrics or when the application was sent to Columbus.

To address your 2nd point - the evidence of your relationship gets taken to the interview.

If you go to the USCIS website there is a link on the right hand side to check status of cases (forget exactly what it is called) and you can set up a profile there with any applications you have filed. You will get a receipt number on your NOA1.

Hey Vipul the case status check 'ka koi fayda nahin hai'. My wife's status is still unchanged since our filing and we have everything done - just waiting for the Greencard now. Good Luck

Yeah, Jamie, after you register, you will tell more by watching the dates change than anything else. The messages rarely change.

We have had our AOS interview, and are approved except for the FBI name check. The case still shows the original message - "we have received your fee and are processing your case". In fact on this case, the date is still showing 12/28/05 and it CERTAINLY was touched frequently after that.

The EAD, which we have, reads that it is approved and the dates moved on it a lot.

The AP (which we also have) saw movement on the dates, but the original reciept message is still there. The message reads as if the case is still in process.

Our notice had last been touched Nov 2005 until two weeks after our interview. Still does not say anything and we have received our welcome letter.

On the back of my cheques, I have a 13 digit MSC number, but this is different on all of them. These are not my case numbers right? Will I get this on the NOA1?

Thanks everyone for answering my questions. I finally figured it out and checked our status online.

Yorkie, that's called the receipt number which is what you need to check your case status with. each one is different for each form you filed. you should be getting the NOA1s in the mail soon.

Mine's gone now! Or at least, the one for the I-485 Cus we've been approved, it dissapears - I was hoping I could look online and see "Your case has been approved, we've sent you your card" but alas, no such luck!

Silly me! BUT the I-130 case number was still on there, and was approved on the 30th, so at least I got the email from them about that, which was kind of pleasing

I hope you and Vipul have a short and uncomplicated journey toward AOS!! :) (F)

The "Case Status" link will help you keep track of all of that. You'll need the receipt numbers from the National Benefits Center (MSC/NBC) to input them, once your first notices come.

Understand it's horribly out of sync, though, for most details. Many people have the original receipts even up to the time of their approval. ^^;;

As for the evidence, that's for th interview.
