Changing of last name after marriage

Please i need your advice. My wife (usc) got married last two month and she petition I-130 for me last month. I live oversea now while she live and work in New Jersey. She want to change her last nane to mine and we don't know how to go about it. What is the process?

She can just use her new married name.  Her marriage certificate is enough evidence that if she wants to, she is legally allowed to change her surname to be the same as yours.

 

Now if she wants her US government-issued IDs to list her new married name, more steps will be involved.  First, she should go to an SSA office to change the name on her SSN card.  Make sure to bring her marriage certificate.  After she gets her new SSN card, she should go to her local DMV office to request name change on her DL.  More info here -- https://www.state.nj.us/mvc/drivertopics/namechange.htm

 

After that, she can use her marriage certificate, SSN card, DL to request for name change on her other IDs, documents, and accounts.
