I removed my last name and put my spouse's last name in the N400 application.

I don't think because of this I need to have the oath ceremony in court. I called USCIS and they responded to me by email saying " your case will be scheduled for the next available oath ceremony in the court having jurisdiction over your place of residence"

I was thinking I will have normal oath ceremony.

please advice

Did you happen to select Yes on Part 2, Item 4? where it says "Would you like to legally change your name?".

Note that you didn't need to ask for name change if you are just taking your spouse's last name. All you needed to do was put your spouse's surname on your legal name on N400.

I choose

YES to "Would you like to legally change your name?". Part 2 item4.

contacted USCIS again yesterday and they responded to me today saying

"On  06/30/2022 , you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your Form N-400 to notify us that you have not received an oath ceremony notice.

Please be advised that your case was recommended for approval on 02/12/2022. Your case will be scheduled for the next available oath ceremony in the court having jurisdiction over your place of residence"
.

any idea what can be done in this situation.

This triggered the oath ceremony at court. You were supposed to check NO.

You are not legally changing name via N400 if you are just taking spouse's last name. You are just asking uscis to update your record and provide you the citizenship (naturalization certificate) under your new legal name with marriage certificate being the proof of name change.

At this time all you can do is wait till they schedule your oath at a court which usually occurs only few times a month depending on location. That's why it will take a while to get it scheduled compared to the regular oath.
