The timing of the approval was almost exactly when the airline would have submitted her APIS information and CBP would have known she was arriving from overseas in the immediate future

That is interesting and is very similar to my own experience. Although I was under the impression that CBP are supposed to initiate the interview as you are going through customs. That didn’t happen for me, either…

If you don’t want to wait for the next international trip, this is the bot I used on Twitter (free to use, but I did send a small tip after it found me an appointment)

it is good because although most entrollment Centers are fully booked, you can get notified as soon as an appointment comes free. I got one at my local Center within a few days of following. The appointment is not til October but it is nice that I’ll have GE by the next time I’m at the airport.

Congratulations on the conditional approval at least!  Still no update on my application nor my USC husband's.  I thought I had applied early enough, but now I'm not optimistic that I'll have GE/TSA PreCheck in time for the November holidays 😞

After my wife was conditionally approved I applied for her daughter on Tuesday and she was conditionally approved in just 2 days.  So it seems wait times are somewhat variable.

I did finally got my wife an appointment locally in San Diego this month.  I got my stepdaughter an appointment for next month just in case they wont let us piggyback her interview with moms.  I tried the free Twitterbot but apparently you have to be pretty fast here in San Diego and nothing from the bot lasted long enough to grab.  So I resorted to good ol' frequent refresh and dates came up reasonably quickly.  It seems around 2:00-3:00ish in the afternoon they let some more timely dates go.

Yeah, definitely true. It took me a couple tries to snap up an appointment. At the time I was without a job so I could be pretty speedy. Congrats on getting an appointment though! Excited for the both of us for a (hopefully) more hassle-free airport experience in the future!
