Hi all,

I sponsored my wife in HK for the immigration visa and timeline is as below.

As you can see below, the visa class is changed to IR1 when I became a US citizen and I want to know it will help to speed up her interview date at the U.S. consulate in HK.
Also, if anyone knows similar case with us, please share with information.

USCIS receipt date for I-130: May 24, 2020

NVC receipt date: December 20, 2020

NVC documentarily complete date: April 08, 2021
Visa class changed from F21 to IR1: May 31, 2022
No interview date scheduled yet

Much appreciated and good luck for other fellows waiting for immigration visas.

Cheers!

IR1 typically has priority over F2A when there are issues, such as limited processing due to Covid the past two years.  One word of caution - does your wife have any derivatives?  That is, does she have any children that you are planning to immigrate with her?

Thank you for the response. No, we don’t have kids yet.
