CR1: Documents required for the interview

Hello everyone,

My wife and I recently got transferred to the NVC and we managed to pay our fees and submit all our paperwork last week. We are hoping everything goes well and we get an interview scheduled soon.

My wife has a lot of anxiety about the interview and she wants to prepare as well as she can. I am aware that I might need to send her physical copies of certain documents but I am not sure which documents are required as there is conflicting information on the internet.

For anyone that has gone through the process, what documents were you required to take to the interview in their original format and what kind of questions were asked at the interview? My wife has terrible anxiety about the process as she has been denied a tourist visa twice before and it left her a bit scared of dealing with embassy interviews.

Thank you!

Mainly she should have up to date original copies of the same documents you summited to NVC to become Documentarily Qualified.  My wife also brought some pictures , boarding passes, passport stamps and such as relationship history but that wasn't even looked at.

My wife had also struck out twice before by getting rejected by US Embassy Manila for tourist visas and she was very apprehensive about that.   It's really quite depressing getting rejected like that and not something anyone wants to face again.  They did not even raise the issue of the tourist visa rejections which was quite a relief to her.  Make sure it is accurately mentioned on the DS-260.  Where they ask why she was previously rejected, just paraphrase exactly the reason it said on that blue rejection paper they gave her before.  At that time the counsel didn't think she has sufficient ties to her country to be granted a tourist visa.  Not an issue on a spousal visa and they already know the reason they rejected her before.  If they do ask any questions about the previous tourist visa rejections (very unlikely but if they did)  She should just repeat back exactly whatever answer she said before.
