Interview Rescheduling Problems

I am in a dilemma and highly stressed out.

I underwent additional sputum tests after my medical exam in November 2021 and the US Consulate has now received my results and emailed to reschedule my interview. My previous interview date was cancelled by the Consulate itself.

When I logged on to my profile on the CGI portal (US Travel Docs) to schedule my new interview date, it took me to the visa fee payment page and upon entering my MRV Receipt number it came up as invalid and won’t let me schedule anything.

Upon calling and emailing US travel docs multiple times and being told by them that the MRV Receipt number would get reactivated again, I have received no resolution and it still comes up as invalid after 4 days.

What would I need to do now? Keep waiting for the receipt number to be reactived or repay the fee? And if I repay the fee how would I go about that- create a new appointment all over again?

P.S. My medical will expire on April 15 and I will need to have an interview before that.

How long it took for the embassy to get your medical after sputum result ?

My results took a little over 2 months to arrive, and then the Consulate received it in 4 days from there

Hi, sorry to hear your situation. I hope someone might have suggestions.

Can I ask why you had to take additional sputum tests?

I had an abnormal chest xray so had to get a sputum test

I am having same problem.  MRV code invalid.  Trying to rebook after being told to no-show because of positive covid test.  Seeing your post does not make me feel good.

I am so sorry to hear that but at least we are not alone. Have you tried emailing and contacting US travel docs? I have been emailing them since Feb 1 and they keep asking me to send them any letter I have received regarding this even after sending them the letter that said not to appear for my scheduled visa interview. They now want even more supporting documents. So I have now sent them the letter of interview cancellation and also the rescheduling instructions email. Each time they take 24 hours to respond so I will get to know what they will respond tomorrow (Monday). Praying so much it gets sorted out for us

The rep at US travel docs helpline today told me that because I attended the biometrics appointment my MRV receipt is showing up as used which should NOT happen. Then said to email with the supporting documents to reactivate the receipt again.

Sounds like it is our problem to get USEM/Travel docs to revalidate our MRV fee.  The problem is, it's like talking to a wall.

That’s exactly how we have been feeling this last week- like we’re communicating with a wall.  Please keep me updated if possible.
