Hi everyone,

My fiance and I are currently preparing documents that we will need for the Visa interview. I am a bit confused about Form I-134 and what evidence my fiance needs to bring with him to support that form.

1. Once I fill this form out, do I need to file this directly with the USCIS after I file it out and my fiance brings a copy of this with him to the interview? Or is this something I fill out, send to my fiance with the evidence and then he brings it to the interview no specific filing required?

2. I meet income requirements and am full-time employed. Will a copy of my recent tax return suffice for evidence or should I also have my employer provide a letter? Will I also need a statement from my bank with regard to deposits or would a copy of my last few pay stubs suffice?

Thanks so much in advance!

Brooke

1.  Hand carry to interview

2.  The consulate often publishes what evidence they want to see.  Tax transcripts or tax returns is often the most requested.

1. The I-134 is for the beneficiary to bring to his/her interview.  It is not sent to USCIS.

2. Current income is the key.  It is what you make now.  Tax return is one of the requirements (USC must have filed taxes) and can show a history of earning the declared current income.  Paystubs and employment letter is usually needed if the current income is significantly different from previous years' income as shown in the tax returns and/or if you've not had the job very long.

For example, I have worked at the same company for 13 years when I completed the I-134, with the salary being about the same for several years.  My paystubs and employment letter was not needed.
