Hello, guys

I filed I-751 about a year ago,

I had an interview and I just got approved.

Here's my background story,

During divorce, my ex requested an annulment to deport me as annulment voids your conditional green card from my knowledge.  ( He was very abusive, threatened to deport me multiple times)

But,  judge gave us a divorce instead of annulment.

Anyways, after we got divorced, I filed I-751 based on divorce waiver and as well as abusive spouse.

I just had interview and got approved. Also, my receipt number was MSC.

I had no RFE or anything but I did biometrics and interview.

I was really nervous for the Interview, but my officer was very friendly, nice, sweet, and very understanding.

I believe, my interview was about 10 or 15 minutes. I was so nervous, but my officer tried to make me feel comfortable by asking weather, food, and travelling.

She swore me under oath, and confirmed my name, birth date, and my address.  I told her I moved to a different state, and she even changed my physical address and mailing address for me.

She was the nicest ever!

After that, she asked me to briefly describe about my marriage, so I asked her "from dating?" or after we got married and she said whatever I feel comfortable talking about.

I was so nervous, and as I started talking about my marriage, I got emotional but she listened to me. ME and my ex met abroad, so as i was explaining details she asked me so that happened in America? and I said NO, this was before we moved to America.

there were couple times she asked me to confirm my information. and That was it, she asked me If I had any more documents that I would like to give her, and said if they need something, I will get RFE? OR REF something otherwise, it will be up to her decision.

She was so nice that she asked me if I know how to check the status of my case and if I wanted her to show me how to check.

and I left the building. After about an hour, My status changed to new card being produced.

I just wanted to share my experience, and If you guys have any questions Id love to help you guys by answering if It is something I know!

Thank you for reading guys

Congratulations on the approval

and so sorry you had to go thru this

Many Americans feel they have control when they submit a petition for a foreigner but they do not

the USC has to go thru intensive documentation to show the relationship is real so they are at the mercy of immigration themselves

and

What are the most common grounds for annulment?

An annulment is a court ruling that a marriage was never valid. The most common ground for annulment is fraud and misrepresentation.

Actually he's lucky judge didn't approve the annulment he would have been part of a fraud

Annulment does not preclude removing conditions with a divorce waiver, and the allegation would be that one party participated, not both.

He was a bully.

But, there was no fraud in our marriage, we got married because we loved each other and  to start our life together .

Also, annulment usually only affects the conditional green card holder from what I was told from lawyers.
