Dear Folks,

I would like to open a claim for my I-751, filled on June 2019 in California. I see on the USCIS website, the processing time for CA is 7 to 19 months. But, the processing times for All Field Offices is 22 to 38 months.

My question is, which processing time should I consider for a claim? California Service Center or All Field Offices?

Sincerely,

That depends on what Service Center is processing your i751. It is not just based on where you live, the timeline is totally based on the office USCIS assigned to your case. There are a couple of ways to tell which USCIS service center is processing your case. Look at your receipt notice and see which office issued your receipt notice so check the address. It maybe the California service center (Notice number starts with WAC***********) or the national benefit center in Missouri (starts with MSC**********).

If your case was sent to the national benefit center then you are getting an interview at your local USCIS office and you will use the All Local office timeline as you wait to get an i751 interview.

If you got some other service center you can figure out the office by address on your receipt notice. USCIS may switch service handling your case so the standard processing time may change.

Uh, those processing times refer to pre-interview processing, and you somehow omitted the important piece of information that you've had an interview already.

Maybe fill out your timeline if you want useful answers.

If the ROC interview was completed six months ago, and your case is still being reviewed, reach out to the USCIS local office where the interview was done for a status update on the review.  The USCIS processing times are for the initial interview, which you have already had, so you are not in a position to request an "outside normal processing time" inquiry.  There could be more to this case than you are sharing here with us.  Good luck, hopefully you will hear something soon.
