Hello,

I am starting the CR-1 process for my husband and am wondering about the best way to organize additional evidence for the online I-130 application. We've never lived together, so I want to show evidence of extended visits. I have photographs, boarding passes, and receipts from three (possibly four, if I don't get this finished before my next trip) visits that I want to include, as well as a short chat transcript from the day we met online. Should I:

  • Arrange images into PDF documents (one per visit) with captions and upload the PDF documents, or
  • Submit images separately (around 50 of them), along with a single document that gives a general explanation of what they are (i.e. six dinners with family).

Also, are there any opinions as to whether online filing or paper filing is better?

Thank you!

20-25 is plenty (go to computer and download about 3 to a 8x11 paper and label them with dated underneath (marriage celebration and photos showing family approves-mother very important)

organize

1.  petition

2.  one page of meetings in person with dates

3.  boarding passes

4.  marriage certificate

5.  other documents needed for the I 130

Keep copies of everything u submit now and in the future to Immigration

I created a small booklet. It was a chronological document of our time together. From the day we met to present. Two parts: Before Marriage and after marriage. I included documents and photos where applicable to show evidence of that timeline event. Worked well for me.

if mailing by hand do not staple or put the documents in binders

the office has to be able to easily get to each document and scan them

you can file online making sure at this point that online documents show both names to keep your files together

later,  if any additional documents are needed ,   put the receipt # ,  both names and both DOB's on all pages u send to immigration

u will get the case # later at NVC stage for Casa
