Hi.

My citizenship interview is tomorrow. I'm prepared for the civics test and the English tests.

I have all the documents I believe that I need.

However, I just watched a youtube video that someone did simulating an interview and she asks a lot of questions related to questions in the N-400 form that I don't know by heart. She also says that I won't be able to reference a copy of my N-400 form.

I'm really concerned now. Like do I really need to know by heart how many days I was not in the United States since becoming a permanent resident 9 years ago? or the dates I ended one job, or started another? I mean, I can probably give ballpark answers, but she was really asking some particular questions, as if I'm supposed to learn the entire N-400 form by heart. Is that really the case? I know my SSN number by heart most of the time, but is it really bad if I blank out on my SSN number? or do I really need to know my Alien Registration number by heart?

I thought I was prepared, but now I'm kind of freaking out.  😵

In general the IO will review the answers you provided on the N400, but it is not a test.  They are simply trying to ensure that the information you provided and the answers to the yes/no questions are truthful and accurate.

Don't over think it.  :)

That's what my original assumption was. I just got freaked by that youtube video.

Thanks for the reassurance 🙂

concentrate on the practice civics test

like who are your senators and how many Senators there are  in Congress (examples )

going over the application like Dashinka said is not the important part

our officer never did not check it with Adil but did look at his passport pages to see when he may have come and gone from the US / he hadn't left at all

but u can take out your passport to refresh your own memory if you are concerned

best to u

be sure to fill in your timeline and let us know how it goes

Hi, just a quick update, since you asked :)

Recommended for approval! 🤪

I was nervous as hell, but interview went smoothly. The interviewer did go through quite a lot of questions off the N-400 form, but that went fine in spite of my fears. The only documents I was asked to show was my passport.

I'll need to postpone my oath ceremony until February due to travel plans.

Thanks y'all!
