It probably has been asked multiple times before but... is there any way to find out if an office does same day oaths? I am in particular interested about Boston, but this could be valuable information to others as well. For example, would they tell you this on the USCIS phone number if you can get hold of a human? Can you show up at the field office and ask them there? Any other ideas?

Thanks so much!

Some field offices generally don’t do them.  Some field offices generally do them.

San Jose for instance generally doesn’t do them.  And for the cases in the timeline list that claim otherwise, I take with a large grain of salt unless the person owning the timeline has explicitly posted that there was a same day oath.

Unfortunately there seem to be  two classes of field office managers

* those who think we would rather wait weeks or months for a formal ceremony so that our loved ones can attend.  Actually no. I think most of us would rather reduce anxiety and walk out with a naturalization certificate in hand and for those of us who want it, we can have tail gate party in the field office parking lot.

* those who don’t empower their officers to make decisions.

If you want more data start plugging in field office names into the time line tool.   Or maybe ask @Captain Ewok to take it on as a project.

Thanks for the detailed answer! I understand now that it can really come down to the managers themselves. And I totally agree with you, better to walk out as a USC than waiting for a ceremony that I assume is not even very ceremonial nowadays because of Covid restrictions.

It's just sad this is not really a public info how it used to be some time ago, for example:

Naturalization Ceremonies

The Denver Field Office conducts Judicial Ceremonies twice per month and Administrative Ceremonies every week. This office does conduct same-day naturalization ceremonies.

I  see marginal  value in knowing this information since even at offices that do same day interviews there are always cases that won’t be approved the same day.
