SSN for Cuban Husband Received!!!

My husband applied for the SSN exactly 2 weeks after arrival through JFK. He had absolutely no problems. Card was issued and a letter stating my husband had applied for SSN was given to him. Card was received in less than 14 days. Limitations are, only valid with DHS authorization.

Didn't attend interview, we decided Salvador should first return to Cuba

If your husband came on K-1 visa and went to get the SSN before getting married and adjusting status, of course he would have limitation on SSN. Once you adjust status he will need to go back to SSA office to update that he is now permanent resident (and will receive unrestricted card).

Its normal for the card to have those restrictions on it, once the green card is recieved you can get the restrictions removed.

Point of clarification: the notation on the SS card is not a restriction or limitation, it is a reminder - a reminder to employer's that the USCIS, not the SSA, is the entity that grants employment authorization to aliens and so the employer needs to see a USCIS-issued document to confirm that the alien is EA.
