Mix of ACCEPTED and SUBMITTED on NVC

Hi guys,

I just received ACCEPTED on most of my NVC documents about 20 minutes ago. All of my (APPLICANT) documents such as DS-260, civil documents, passport scan etc. are accepted. My wife's (PETITIONER) documents are accepted, too. However, my father-in-law's (JOINT SPONSOR) documents say SUBMITTED. When I go to his list it says:

  • FORM I-864 - SUBMITTED
  • PROOF OF US CITIZENSHIP - SUBMITTED
  • PROOF OF U.S DOMICILE - ACCEPTED
  • FEDERAL INCOME TAX RETURN - ACCEPTED

Does this process normally take a couple of days to show it as fully-accepted? I don't have any new messages asking for me to upload additional documents, or re-upload stuff that's already there. There are no 'Response Notes' next to the documents.

Thanks in advance,

I have similar situation. But I also had to submit additional documents. So i'm waiting for those to get reviewed as well.

Weirdly, I was DQ the following day. My joint-sponsor's documents (2 of 4) still say SUBMITTED and not ACCEPTED, but the email said that the local embassy are going to reach out with an interview date, and that all my documents were accepted.

How does NVC review documents, by the first submission date or the last? If someone has a missing document and submits it on a later date, does the review time remain the same?

Last submission date

I was also told last date but from experience I think it might depend on which forms/documents you submit when. We submitted our DS-260 on April 30th and everything else by May 5th. NVC reviewed everything last Friday and then only on Monday updated the website to say they were reviewing documents submitted 30 April 2021. I wonder if the DS-260 triggers the review date as it is the actual IV application that results in the CEAC confirmation being generated.

Oh okay! Are you documentarily qualified after the review? We submitted some of our documents on May, added joint sponsor's documents on June 5th and our last submission was on June 8th. Let's see when they are going to review our documents.

No, unfortunately we had to resubmit one doc and add another. The resubmitted one still shows the original date of 30 April and the new one was 8 June. Responses in another thread indicate that the subsequent reviews have taken anywhere from 5 days to a month or more so it will be interesting to see when they get back to us. Good luck!
