I applied for K1 visa for my fiancee. I am sharing the timeline how it worked for us.

2019 June - Applied for K1 with USCIS

2019  Nov - was approved at USCIS and sent to NVC

2020 Feb - Interview date
2020 Feb - Cancelled interview - Embassy closed for one year for CoronaVirus
2021 Feb - New interview and passed it
2021 March - Visa Issued

Visa Status >>>
At NVC
Ready (for interview)
Refused (after interview)
Application received
Administrative Processing
Issued
Visa Pickup

Tips,

1- Don't lie
2- Know each other very good (friends, food, colors, car etc)
3- Provide any document they want - if cannot, explain honestly why couldn't

Also what documents did they ask your fiancé to bring to the interview? And what did they ask your fiancé? I really appreciate it

1- Embassy instructed to conduct the medical before interview
2- The medical was done at American Medical Center (AMC) in Kabul
3- The price was around 500$
4- The questions were about your relationship and plans for future and about personal life of each other.
5- Embassy will tell you what docs to bring in

** You can take other docs that you want to. They may look at them.

Thank you so much! Really it’s $500? What did they do? Was it because of all the vaccinations or they did other exams as well? Did they look at the affidavit of support also? What documents did they tell you to bring? How long did it take for you to schedule an appointment with the medical and interview?

Sorry for asking too many questions. I want to prepare for my fiancé.

After they refused you, did they take your passport or no?
