I submitted an I-130 to begin the process of bringing my stepson to live with us here in the US. I filed Dec 2020 and this morning I got a text message and email saying action has been taken on my case but when I try to login, it says, “Error retrieving case status. Try again later.”  Above that it says Case Closed. Is this a good thing or not?  When I filed for my husband I was living abroad with him and everything went through the consulate, so this route is all new to me.

I would give it a day or so. Sometimes it can take some time to populate the internet side of things, I've noticed. No idea on why you got the "Case Closed," but you can always inquire if it ends up not changing.

Congrats on the movement!

Patience......patience.

If you filed the I-130 a week ago, I would imagine it is notification that your petition has been sent to one of the processing centers. If you log in to the USCIS site, you should be able to see specifics on where it was sent.
