i asked my fiancee about the pictures and her birth and divorce papers and she said the man tha took her envolope keprt everything. is this supposed to happen????

at her port of entry...? If so, yes, he was suppose to keep it all. They mail it to USCIS, the next time you'll see it, it'll be at your AOS interview.

I hope you realize that anything that that has been incorporated into the permanent file you will not get back (original documents included)... That is why it is important NOT to provide originals when not required particularly if they are impossible or difficult to replace.
