Question about I-485 Part 8

On the form I-485, part 8, it states to provide an explanation if you select "yes" to any answer.

I put yes to questions 16 & 17 (worked in the United states w/o authorization & violating terms of noninmigrant status) since both are true for my spouse.

Should I provide details regarding that on part 14?

We were long distance for two years (we went back and forth) the last time she came over I didn't want her to go back and I proposed to her (I even got the wrong size rings since it was a surprise) should I put that as an explanation ? Or just leave it factual as : came on a tourist visa and didn't leave when my permit expired?

Thoughts?

Yeah, the 'love story fluff' is not pertinent to USCIS.  Just write the facts as they occurred.

Your post is a bit confusing?  Are you the immigrant or your wife?  If it's your wife, did she work without authorization?

I-485 is to be filled out by the immigrant.  I assume you are helping her fill it out?

The explanation should be direct and objective.
