Hello folks.

I filed N400 back in October 2019. Did my fingerprints in November and haven't heard anything. My application will be outside normal processing time very shortly. What is the best course of action? Should I inquire myself, hire a lawyer or try inquire through my state reps.?

Thank you

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

I would start with the free options, inquire yourself and also state reps as well. You can also file a request with the ombudsman once you've done the previous methods too.

Why don’t you begin with the form USCIS provides for this, and then if you don’t get any luck start with other options? If you have done absolutely no inquiry I don’t think a congresspersons’s office is going to be keen to take it up at all. Cant see what paying a lawyer would do, at least at this stage.

Are lawyers able to help at all with Citizenship delays? If yes, in what cases?

Thank you.

I guess at the point you think it’s worth taking them to court to make them do something

I contacted the state Senator and they contacted USCIS. Their response was it is under review still. The lady from the Senator office asked me to contact her again by end of this month if I don't hear anything. Is there something else I can do? Last action was them taking my finger prints. Still waiting for interview date since then.

The immigration process caused me PTSD.
