My K-1 visa is outside normal processing time by 3 months. Is there anything I can do to escalate this at the service center it's at? I took a look at different I-129F applications that were submitted during the same time and they are all moving on to some next step. I'm worried something is happening with my case and they either forgot about it or are ignoring it. My case was marked as received in May 2020 and now it's March 2021 and according to their processing times, the California service center is now processing packets that were received in August 2020. The worrying is sinking in here so I'm hoping there's something I can do escalate this internally at USCIS. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @powerpuff

I did submit an inquiry a month ago, and tomorrow I'm going to submit another one. Here is the response I got from the first inquiry:

"Thank you for your inquiry. We recognize your interest in the final adjudication of your pending application/petition and are aware of the difficulties caused by any delay in processing. We regret we are not able to give you a timeframe for when we will review your case but the California Service Center is committed to processing this workload."

Their response (which seems completely automated) did not help ease my concerns. Has anyone ever tried to file form DHS-7001 to request for case assistance with the CIS Ombudsman? I had never heard of this before, but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with that path.

Well remembering we’re in COVID, I would only consider your case a few weeks off compared to my timeline. I received my first NOA1 on March, and then didn’t hear anything from then until December. Even then it was just an RFE and I got accepted a month later. You can try calling, if not just try waiting it out a little longer! Don’t think they forgot just yet

im a part of a WhatsApp group, if you’d like to try and ask them. Just private message me for the link!
