Either are acceptable, but the word is most consulates prefer IRS transcripts.  In our case though we used copies of my returns along with my W2’s.

Good Luck!

Hi Dashika, By "copies of my returns", Do you mean a copy of the tax form that you filled out a sent to the IRS, (in my case, I use form 1040, and mail it the IRS) ?  Thanks

Yes, but if you use copies of your 1040, you also have to include copies of any W2s or 1099s.

Hello again, wife's interview is 21jan. In regard to tax forms, Since I just filed 2020 taxes, does that mean i should bring 2020, 2019, and 2018 copies+w2's to the interview. Or, should she bring years 2019, 18, 17, as they were the ones listed on the Affidavit of support? Thanks

Technically you have until April 15, 2021 to file your 2020 taxes. Plus, some people don't even receive their W2's until February or later. Happened to me several times in the past.

So send the 3 that shows you making the most money... ...I'm assuming that would be 2019, 2018, and 2017.

Hi! Just wanted to ask if when did you become “documentarily qualified” and how long did you get a response for an interview date from approval of documents at NVC stage? My petition just got approved at NVC and received and email saying NVC will schedule my spouse interview with manila embassy, no email yet.

Hi Regg, You have to file a "Request to Expedite". You can find the path to the directions to file on the same page that you see uploaded your documents. Look closely for it because its easy to miss. Come up w/ justification for them to expedite. I used the covid  situation as justification, I also informed them that I am in the Phils on a tourist visa, and could soon be sent home.  Once I submitted that, in 11 days, we received a email that the "expedite" was approved and the package sent to manila. 5 days after that, we received an appt letter from the embassy manila.
