All you need is some sort of reason to apply and see it is free so no downside.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Do you mind if I ask what grounds you're pursuing for expediting, if you're willing to share ? I was under the impression it was only emergencies.

A medical emergency. I've seen other people get approved for similar reasons, so hopefully it works out. Truthfully my expectations are not high.

I'm not sure what your situation is, but I feel like it will never hurt to ask. I saw someone out of Australia get approved for an expedite on the grounds that she was draining the savings she had set aside to move because of COVID delays.

Sorry that you're in that situation. My situation is in the first post of this thread.

Re Savings, I guess that financial hardship is a valid reason - we are relying on our savings somewhat at the moment.

My view is that K-1 applicants with children together should be the same priority (if not higher) than spouses with no children. I don't think that'd wash as an expedite reason though! I know it's hard for all of us.

Most applicants with children would be going CR1 or IR1.

Only if they are married.

Of course. Now there are a few situation where a K1 makes more sense, for example gay couple where the beneficiaries Country does not recognise gay relationships.

However many of those are going to be very unusual where children are already involved.

So making public policy for a very unusual set of circumstances seems unlikely.

Sure, I see your point. I was thinking more selfishfly that my unusual set of circumstances might be a path to expedited consideration... :)

Like you say, there's no downside in trying.

Hey guys, this thread has been really helpful to read. Does anyone know how we go about applying for a NIE/expedited review? Can't seem to find any forms or details. Might just be looking in the wrong place. Thanks so much!
