Thanks for all the well wishes...so here is exactly what I did. I followed all the instructions that the were listed in the VJ guide. Once I recieved notification for the USCIS that we were approved and our case was forwarded to the NVC I emailed the Cairo embassy asking for them to open a provisional file for my fiance and send him the packet 3 (I included all of my info and my fiance's address). They agreed and he had the packet 3 within 1-2 weeks. We then sent everything in very quickly and then in approx 3 weeks we got notice that we were scheduled for an interview. In the meantime, about once a week or so I sent an email to the Cairo embassy letting them know that we had sent in our packet 3 and when should we expect an interview. We received an invitation / packet 4 about 10 days later. BTW we went over all the questions that people had posted here on VJ to prepare for the interview. My fiance was asked when we plan on getting married and he told them June...he was asked this multiple times and said the same thing. He was then told 1-2 months he will receive his visa. So once the interview was over I then sent another email out to the embassy confirming that we were planning on getting married in June and all the responses were the same as everyone has posted on here. I kept emailing them every week saying the same things -- we were told that we would get our visa in 1-2 months and if there was anything I could do to speed up the process to let me know. I also called the DOS about once a week or so, probably more like every 2 weeks in between emailing the embassy. I don't know if this helped but so far so good...don't know if this will work with you but good luck!

ps. we did have an age gap but not to large about 7 years and neither of us have any kids / issues in the past - never been married.

questions...ask away!

Fouad

I got mine looking at kayak.com and cheaptickets.com but abdoujen seems to have the best source since she got some for $200 to morocco!!!

My trip that I'm taking in three weeks is via alitalia and is $1,300 but that was purchased back in Feb I think and is roundtrip. I think I remember Jean mentioning that Mohammed needed a roundtrip at the last minute or they wouldn't let him board the plane. Summer is the most expensive time though so be prepared to shell it out.

Fouad

A K-1 visa holder should not need a round-trip ticket, although they may try to sell him one. My fiance's travel agent tried, stating that a K-1 was not an immigrant visa, but my fiance insisted and bought the one-way ticket because several people here had said it was fine to purchase whichever was cheaper. If the airline is insisting on a round-trip ticket, it sounds like someone is confused. Or are things different in Egypt? I may be the one who is confused.

I'm the USC.

Did he get the Visa back yet?

and I was wondering about that... do you REALLY have to buy a round trip?

and IF for some foolish reason you HAVE TO.. does it expire?

Since I've been a post hog lately I suggest someone ask in a separate post that way it will get more attention. I think it differs depending on the country though. I know that Jean had to scramble at the last minute to get Mohammed a round trip ticket and he came on a K-1 visa, but she doesn't post here any more.
