Does the London medical office offer a complete set of vaccinations for any that my wife and children may have missing from their medical history.  I also understand that we would have to pay for them.

Also - any special advice or examination differences for children, we have a 3 year old and an 8 year old?

Thanks in advance.

Yes they do. I was missing a couple and they are happy to do them right there and then for a fee of course. Not sure about children, sorry!

I spoke to my GP in advance and showed them this page - https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/pdf/revised-fact-sheet-fed-reg-notice-vaccination-immigration.pdf - they informed me what was missing and what I already had.

Here is the clinic website with information including price lists for shots. It tells ages that require chest x-rays and STD testing.  Not kids.

http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us.htm

The vaccination chart is here

Adults only need 4 shots and one (varicella shot) is waived in the UK as “not routinely available“.

Perfect - thanks guys.

I forgot to paste in the vaccination chart by ages.

https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/panel/vaccination-panel-technical-instructions.html#tbl1

Only the ones appropriate for the age are required. For example as an adult, you don’t need proof of everything that is on the child list.  Adults age appropriate=MMR, Tdap or Td,  Varicella (waived), Flu (only between 1-Oct and 31-Mar)

Any suggestions on where to do a titer test?

We have the documentation with vaccines on my spouses foreign vaccination card, however,

for an extra layer of security would like to have other proof (just as a security to have as my spouse has a foreign vaccination card.

Thanks!

Of the required shots for an adult, a titre is only going to show his immunity to MMR and will cost more than getting a booster. And if insufficient, will cost you the titre plus shot cost.

He will still need things a titre can’t detect:

Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis proof dated within last 10 years.

a new flu shot.

(Varicella will be waived)

Why don’t you scan the card and email the clinic and ask how they handle a foreign Immunisation record?  Surely he won’t be their first ever.

My wife is pregnant and has had MMR vaccine in the past.

Her foreign record shows MMR vaccine. She had another a few years back as an "update" but we are trying to find this record (although we believe the initial MMR jabs are covered). I believe that a titre would just give us an extra level of security in this without her having to take a "live vaccine" during pregnancy.

With pregnancy MMR is something we don't know she will be able to have.

Therefore still showing the titre for MMR I think would be worth while (despite it being an extra charge, I know this).

MMR for immigration is contraindicated during pregnancy and will be waived as “not medically appropriate” because of the rubella component. She won’t have to get it later either. If she is early pregnant and not obvious, take something confirming the pregnancy.

The clinic will sort you out on shots before you leave to make her immigration ready. They won’t just reject her and leave her hanging.

Just an update with our recent medical exam for others future benefit.

Visa medicals did not have any Flu or Tdap vaccines in stock. Tdap was not available as they only had Tetanus.

Flu is really hard to find at the moment as over 65 are priority. I highly recommend trying to find a flu jab ahead of time.

Because my wife is pregnant she was considered priority for the vaccination as well, but regardless, it was a lot of phone calls until we found a GP that had stock of the Flu vaccine.

Wife had foreign proof of vaccinations card that was not at all accepted.

We also were lucky to have performed an IGg ahead of time for MMR with the results accepted as proof by the doctor panel as showing immunity (wife would not have been able to be vaccinated for MMR, but needed proof. This was lucky for us that we were able to schedule an immunity test).

Just noting this experience as it should not be taken in the current condition to assume the medical appointment for the visa will have all vaccinations there ready for you.

We just have to send them our evidence of vaccination now, and then they should forward on the medical to the Embassy.

Hope others have a less harry experience than we did.

Anyone had a medical this week and know if they have flu jabs in stock now?

My medical is this Monday. Tried two pharmacies today just in case, but both fully booked.

Call or email the visa Medicals clinic.
