Embassies are still closed. You may want to ask the question in the regional discussion.

You can request an emergency interview for spouse/child of US citizen. Some will say you cannot but I did. We got put in AP in the end but still was at least able to get the interview :)

What was your basis for the expedited interview?

COVID 19 and family separation during a pandemic .. lost my job and claimed I needed my husband in the US so we could recover from severe financial loss and was unable to travel back to him at the time as his country shut down inbound flights.

got approved... but now in AP so I don’t even think it was worth it :(

To be honest, I have good reason to request the expedited service.  But since my wife and I as well as our kids are united in the UAE. The wait is not as unbearable.

i just wish that there was communication coming out of the Embassy. Also the whole country is up and running but the embassy remains closed for routine family based immigration services.

Always try to request an expedite if you can because it won’t hurt to try..

yes, I ended up finding a new job actually, but after my husband got put on AP I left my job to come back here as soon as UaE started accepting residents again. We were apart for 7 months.... and we have a one year old. Keeping family together is the most important thing even if it means leaving everything behind. Happy with the decision I made :)

We requested an expedite, but they turned us down. I need shoulder replacement and my back is so bad, I can hardly walk. Ineed his help.  I should have added that my spouse has not had a job all year because of covid, but I don't think they care anyway.
