Long vs short form of New Jersey US Birth certificate

Hey guys, I am the Canadian fiance of an American. I was going through our application in the small hope that Montreal is reopening soon (our interview was supposed to be one week after the embassy closed so we had everything ready). I am realizing now that I think my fiance only has a short form of his birth certificate. I know I have to have the long form, but does anyone know about the american birth certificate? He's from NJ and I'm having trouble finding anything about if they even have a long form. It looks like their official version is a short form but they may issue a long form if you special request it. His short form has some of the required information (hospital, filing date) and I know he used it to get his passport which I thought you couldn't do with a short form but it doesn't have any of his parent's info. Does anyone have any experience with this or with a NJ long form specifically?

If he has a passport to prove he is American citizen, I don’t think the birth certificate is required. It has been a while for me but I don’t remember needing the petitioner birth certificate

My American petitioner never needed to show his birth certificate ... we only ever used his passport during the K1 process. So I wouldn’t worry about trying to get a long form for him. As long as you have your Canadian long form birth certificate you will be fine. 😊

if you're at the interview stage they need YOUR long form birth certificate not the USC. With the I-129F, he already proved citizenship.
