Hi all,

Our case is DQ’d and waiting for nvc to send the case to Mumbai embassy. As everyone knows how bad the situation is in India in terms of covid, it’s going to take a very long time for the consulate to open. My question is: We are planning to expedite the request so that the wait time for nvc to embassy is reduced. We don’t have an emergency to get it expedited but I saw many people getting approved for reasons like missing birthday, getting affected mentally etc. If we decide to do so for such reasons, is there any downside if they reject the expedite request?

You have almost no chance of getting approved for expedite based on reasons you mentioned above. Just about everyone applying for the CR-1 case misses the birthdays. Similarly, everyone is mentally affected by staying apart with their loved ones.

Yes I agree 💯%. I thought I’ll also try my luck if there is no downside at all. That’s why I wanted to know if there is any which can impact the CR1 process.
